Jeremy At TradeshowProven Fall Monitors Help Reduce the Risk of Patient Falls & Wandering

FACT: According to the recent research, 40% of people with dementia will exhibit wandering behaviour.

FACT: Falls account for 62 per cent of all fatal injuries in people aged 65 and above (Office of National Statistics 2002, Preventing Falls in Older People, 2002).

FACT: The NHS incurs yearly costs of £1.7 billion to treat those who have fallen (Help the Aged).

FACT: Studies have estimated that about a third of people over the age of 65 will fall at least once a year. (Help the Aged)

WanderGuard UK, a division of Turun UK, Ltd. offers a range of innovative restraint-free fall monitors designed to help caregivers reduce the risk of falls and manage wandering. These products, including TABS Mobility Monitors and the WanderGuard departure Alert System, are used in over 10,000 healthcare facilities worldwide including care homes and hospitals in every major city in the United Kingdom.

TABS ProductsFALLS PREVENTION:

TABS® products are particularly useful in helping manage the fall risk behaviour associated with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. The TABS® line offers a range of bed and chair exit alarm monitors that are designed to alert a caregiver when a monitored resident is leaving a bed, chair, toilet or room. Once the individual exits the bed, chair, toilet or room, the TABS® system can then sound a local alarm, alert staff via existing nursecall, or through a pager, thus alerting the caregiver so they are able to intervene and prevent an injurious fall from occurring.

WANDERING PATIENTS:

Wanderguard FirstQ SystemThe WanderGuard® FirstQ® system utilizes door-sited monitors and bracelets to sound alarms selectively when a monitored patient passes through a monitored door or hallway. The WanderGuard system keeps patients safer and provides peace of mind for staff by alerting them when a monitored resident is exiting the facility unsupervised or entering a potentially dangerous area such as a stairwell or fire exit.

While technology is an important part of risk management, we know that on-going customer service and support must accompany the technology. That's why WanderGuard UK, a division of Turun UK, Ltd. offers comprehensive programs that include staff training, installation, equipment maintenance and service.
